05/08/2012: Sunday 1st XI v Harborne

Kenilworth Win

With both Saturday League games rained off, the Town 1’s and 2’s secured fine victories in their Warwickshire Sunday League clashes against Birmingham League outfit, Harborne. The 1’s won by 16 runs as they posted 247-6 in their 40 overs with Gregg Peebles leading the way with a blistering 72 in which he hit 6 boundaries and 3 sixes, Oscar Heath made 42, James Nason 24 before Peebles teamed up with colt Rob Gardner who smoted a quickfire 40 hitting 2 boundaries and a six as they shared in a 95 run 6th wicket partnership as Kiyer and Boukhobza took a brace and Raza and Gunthorpe a wicket apiece. Harborne could not quite reach the Town total as they ran out of overs and could only post 231-7 in reply. Hawkins hit 67 and Kiyer 65 as youngster Pat Howard took 3-23 for the Town, colt Todd Elliott 1-45 whilst Rupesh Sarvanjkar rounded off a great day in the field by taking 2-25 and snapping up 3 good outfield catches.
