15/09/2012: Saturday 1st XI v Four Oaks Saints

Kenilworth Lose

Kenilworth 1st XI’s sorry season in the Premier Division of the Warwickshire Cricket League ended in a 13 run defeat at Four Oaks Saints. They had managed to restrict Saints to 162 all out, with 1st XI debutant, Jaesh Naik claiming 5-47 off 11.4 overs to round off a great season for him. Charlie Leonard took 3-42 and Peter Alty 3-26 from their 13 overs spells as R Longthorne posted 44 and Ridgeway and Westlake 27 each. However, thought of a final day win petered out as Kenilworth slumped to 97-8 themselves before a fine recovery by Imran Khan who made 47 from the number 9 berth nearly saw Kenilworth sneak a win. Sadly, the side was bowled out for 149 with some 5 overs of the match remaining to sum up a frustrating season for the side and life in Division 1 for the 2013 season.
