1st XI still await first win despite 2 centuries

1st XI v. Four Oaks Saints

On Saturday 11th June, Kenilworth’s first team hosted visitors Four Oaks Saints in their Warwickshire Cricket League Division One match.


After being put into bat, Kenilworth started to flay the visitors bowling to all parts, opener Guy Pearson smashed his second league hundred of the season with boundary filled innings of 132 including (18 x 4 & 1 x 6), and together with Dave Edmunds the pair put on an amazing 243 run partnership in only thirty two overs, Edmunds smashed 123 including (20 x 4 & 2 x 6). There were runs too for Tom Booker with 42 not out, Matt Dargan 23 and young Dan Horner with 17 as wracking up a huge 379 all out in the 50th over, McGinley taking 5 for 91 for Four Oaks.


On what was to be a day where bat dominated ball, the visitors opening bat Hipkiss hit a solid 103 not out, as his side comfortably held out for losing draw, finishing on 220 for 5 from their 50 overs.


There were wickets for Matt Dargan 1 for 48, Ian Baker 1 for 12, Chris Prophet 1 for 37 and Tom Pope 1 for 43, all in all a day where Kenilworth were once again left still looking for their first win of the season, the home side taking 16 points from a winning draw.
