1st XI v. Four Oaks Saints

Kenilworth first team hosted bottom side Four Oaks Saints in their penultimate Warwickshire Cricket League Premier Division league match of the season.

Four Oaks batted first and were kept in check by Kenilworth’s opening bowlers Joe Boyle with a very tidy 2 for 15 off twelve overs and Jake Sunderland with 1 for 28 off eleven overs, but it was spinning duo of Charlie Stranks with a fine 3 for 24 off eleven overs and Phil Edmonds with 2 for 25, young Jack Howard with 2 for 36 and two smart catches in the outfield for Neil Goodman saw the visitors all out for 137 in the 50th over, only Moore with 29 making any impact for Four oaks.

Kenilworth lost an early wicket, but opener Chris Prophet with a sublime 79 not out (10 x 4 and 2 x 6) and Phil Edmonds with 30 put on 68 for second wicket, and after Edmonds was out, Jorjeet Singh who made 13 not out joined Prophet to add an unbroken stand of 64 for the fourth wicket to win the game for Kenilworth by eight wickets with 19 overs left, finishing on 141 for 2 to record their second win of the season. However, the side looks certain to be unable to beat the drop into Division One for next season but a least it was a very positive display by the side.
