On Saturday 18th July, Kenilworth’s first team travelled over to high flying Marston Green at their small ground for the side’s latest Warwickshire Cricket League Premier Division league match which turned out to be a one sided affair as Marston Green easily won the game.

The home side batted first and were soon putting the visitors bowling to the sword with opener Saleem smashing 121 and number three Ali with 136 not out, together putting on a massive 252 for the second wicket, before declaring on a huge 308 for 2 from 45 overs. Wicket takers for Kenilworth were Jake Sunderland 1 for 68 off 12 overs and Tom Pope 1 for 77 off 12 overs.

Kenilworth were always going to be up against it in their reply, but openers Dave Edmunds with 38 and James Nason 27 putting on 68 for the first wicket, but with wickets falling regularly, only the evergreen Mike Watts with 38 not out and Jorjeet Singh with 31 posted a scorecard of note, as Kenilworth slipped to 182 all out.
