27/08/2012: Saturday 1st XI v Bedworth

Kenilworth’s match against Bedworth was ruined by the rain in what had turned out to be a finely poised affair when play was abandoned. Batting first, the 1’s could only muster 123 inside 41 overs on a damp wicket with the ball playing tricks. Charlie Leonard was unbeaten on 30, whilst James Nason made 20 and Gregg Peebles 18, as Jones took 2-19 and there was a brace of wickets for the Bedworth trio of Parnell, Oldham and Peacock. In reply, Bedworth found conditions equally difficult and soon slumped to 32-3 with Parnell 15 not out after Leonard had taken 2-13 and Peebles 1-16 but the weather proved the only winner and denied both sides the opportunity of a win.
