Losing Draw

Kenilworth dented Sutton Coldfield’s title aspirations in their Warwickshire Cricket League Premier Division match by hanging on for a draw. Sutton posted 239-5 with Mark Guest making 72, Lee Thomason 57 and James Hunt 38 not out despite the efforts of teenagers Matt Bolshaw who took 2-56, Tom Pope 2-74 and Jaesh Naik 1-65 for Kenilworth. In reply, the side looked in danger of losing the match as they slumped to 97-8 but Pope made 24 at number 10 whilst the last wicket clung on to frustrate Sutton Coldfield as Naik hung on for 17 balls and Mick Watts 39 balls as the side ended the day on 128-9.
