2’s frustrate Coleshill whilst the others lose

A tough Saturday for all 3 sides

Saturday 23rd. July

Another frustrating day for the three Kenilworth Saturday League sides – the best result being a losing draw for the 2nd. XI,  as the other two sides suffered defeats.

SATURDAY

1st XI

Kenilworth v. Knowle & Dorridge 2’s

WCCL Division 1  – 50 overs a side – Win/Lose/Draw format

LOST BY 4 WICKETS

Kenilworth 204-6 (50 overs) (6 points) lost to Knowle & Dorridge 2’s 209-6 (43.5 overs) (20 points) by 4 wickets.

Connor Shingler’s fine 70 (7 x 4) was in vain for the Town side as they lost out by 4 wickets. They had posted 204-6 with Steve Rhodes hitting a 22 ball unbeaten 33 (3 x 4, 2 x 6 – one of which cleared the ball stop netting and landed in the Housing Development), Adie Sellar making 32 and Henry Curran  20), as wickets were shared around by the K & D bowlers with Patel taking 2-33. In reply. K & D’s Jake Simmons opening hit 51 and Isaac Maddy 39. The side wobbled at 138-6 until a 71 run unbeaten partnership between James Hughes 49 not out (8 x 4, 1x 6) and 25 not out (5 x 4) from Vidan Iyer saw them to 209-6 with relative ease, after Town’s Joe Atkinson had earlier taken 4-26 with a wicket apiece from Rhodes and Tom Skinner.
