Kenilworth Lose

Despite losing a close game with Handsworth, Kenilworth remain out of the drop zone with two matches to go which will be a nervy season end to the League programme. The side posted 211-10 to obtain maximum batting points as Neil Goodman hit 59, Guy Pearson 37, James Nason 34 and Chris Prophet 25 as Smith took 5-56 for Handsworth who took advantage of the 2 extra overs they received as they successfully chased down the target to reach 212-8 in the 51st over after Dawkins had made 67, Athurton 24 and Folkes 23. However, Rashid remained steadfast to see the side home as he made an unbeaten 38 despite the best efforts of Kenilwoth’s Ed Ruswa who took 5-48, Neil Goodman 2-29 and James Nason 1-14. The side achieved a valuable 7 points but their next match is against champions elect Sutton Coldfield next week before facing Bedworth in their final match of the season.
