Paceman Dargan takes maiden wicket in Club debut

1st XI v. Fillongley

Kenilworth’s Saturday 1st XI team travelled to Fillongley for their Warwickshire Cricket League Division 1 fixture on 30th April in a match that was frustrated by the weather but that saw the eagerly awaited debut of seamer, Matt Dargan, who put in an encouraging performance with the ball and who was rewarded with 1-18 off 11 sharp overs that included 4 maidens.

Fillongley batted first and after a steady start the home side slipped to 52 for 2 then 65 for 3 with Sayed top scoring for the hosts with 35. Two further wickets fell on 110 but then rain intervened and the game was stopped.  Further rain meant the match was eventually abandoned with Fillongley  on 133 for 5 off 34 overs.

A good fielding and bowling performance by the Kenilworth side saw the wickets shared around, as Phil Edmonds took 2 for 36, Matt Dargan 1 for 18, Neil Goodman 1 for 7 and Joe Boyle with 1 for 41.

Kenilworth take 6 pts from the abandoned game on a day that  the weather had the final say.
