Firsts still in search of first win of the season

1st. XI v. Fillongley

Kenilworth hosted Fillongley on Saturday 6th May for their Warwickshire Cricket League Division One match.
On a cool grey day, Fillongley were asked to bat first and they were soon in trouble as seamers Matt Casey (2 for 44) and Ian Baker (1 for 25) had them  teetering at 18 for 3 and then 33 for 4 in only seven overs. However, an innings of 27 from Stelding helped his side recover to 106 for 6, along with number eight Tregonning with 29 not out. Fillongley were all out in only 38 overs for 148.
There were wickets too for Ed Ruswa 3 for 13, Jorjeet Singh 1 for 12 and Phil Edmonds 1 for 21 whilst Darius Potten-Ravenshad, Matt Casey took two smart catches in the outfield.
Kenilworth made a disastrous start in reply slipping to 14 for 2 and then  61 for 6 and found themselves teetering on the brink at 94 for 8 until an innings of 43 from Christian Hose made any impact on the Fillongley bowling. Both Jorjeet Singh and Tom Booker made 19, but only three home batsmen made a double figure score, as Kenilworth were bowled out for only 121 in 42 overs.
Gardner with 4 for 21 and Sayed 3 for 23 proving to be too good, Fillongley the winners by 27 runs, Kenilworth take three points, as the search for the first win of the season goes on.
