The wait for a win goes on

1st XI v. Water Orton

On Saturday 13th May Kenilworth travelled to Water Orton for their Warwickshire Cricket League Division One fixture.
Water Orton chose to bat first and after an early wicket, a stand of 156 for the second wicket between Murray with a fine 75 and Louw with an aggressive 88 the hosts rattled up an impressive 289 for 7 from their fifty overs as  Harris added 44. The Wicket takers for Kenilworth were Matt Casey 2 for 43, Henry Curran 2 for 43 and Chris Prophet 2 for 55.
Kenilworth’s reply didn’t start well and were in trouble at 51 for 4, but Chris Prophet stood firm, hitting an impressive  innings of 70 not out that contained 7 x 4 and 3 x 6. Only Dave Edmunds with 24 and Jack Howard with 19 helped Prophet out, as Kenilworth were bowled out for 169 in the forty first over. Bevan with 2 for 40 and Harris 2 for 33 were the pick of the home sides bowling. Water Orton the winners by 120 runs.
Kenilworth take five points, whilst the search for the first win of the season goes on.
