The Town 1’s started their Warwickshire Sunday League Division 1 campaign with an impressive 7 wicket win over Birmingham League outfit, Attock, who posted a challenging 219-8 off their 40 overs. Teenager Pat Howard was the pick of the Town bowlers taking 3-25 from his eight overs whilst Gregg Peebles snapped up 2-32. Ant Kerry, Geoff Edmunds and Roger Kelsey took a wicket a piece. Town openers Jason and Peebles then started the run chase in style and added 102 for the first wicket. Nason made 53, hitting 6 boundaries. Peebles then took charge and went on the rampage and smash 87 (9 x 4 and 2 sixes) as he put on 62 for the second wicket with Chris Prophett, 12. It was left to Guy Pearson 25 not out and Dave Edmunds 28 not out to see the Town home and victory, as they put on an unbroken 4th wicket partnership of 52 as the side reached 221-3 with a couple of overs to spare.
