Earlswood stroll to an easy win

1st XI v. Earlswood

Kenilworth’s 1st XI team travelled to new boys Earlswood for their Warwickshire Cricket League Division One match on Saturday 29th April – their second in the 50 overs a side win/lose format.
Kenilworth batted first and openers Pat Howard and Adie Sellar gave the visitors a solid start, both making 22 in an opening stand of 56, but the side then slipped to 57 for 3 and finally collapsed to a miserable 102 all out a score only achieved by  the generosity of the home side, who gave them 36 extras. Only Chris Prophet with 17 and the opening batsmen making double figures. Craven with 3 for 31 and Nijjar 2 for 4 doing the main damage for the home side.
Earlswood got their reply off to a flying start, as openers Dennison and Jackson having no trouble chasing down the 103 needed for the win. In particular, it was Dennison with an aggressive 71 not out that saw his side cruise home in only 18 overs, finishing on 106 for 0 wicket, Earlswood winning by ten wickets and give the Kenilworth 1’s a drubbing who returned home pointless for their efforts.
