Saturday 1st XI v Fillongley – 09/06/2012

Kenilworth Lose

The Town 1’s still await their first win of season after falling to a 3 wicket loss to Fillongley, who moved into second place in the Premier Division of the Warwickshire Cricket League. The Town 1’s could only muster 141 and that was thanks to a solid 34 from Gregg Peebles 34 in which he hit 3 boundaries and a six in his 58 ball innings. Adie Sellar added 20 but the side’s last 3 wickets fell for a paltry 2 runs as Brooks took 3-30, Gardner 2-26 and Sayed 2-13 whilst Ali, Tregonning and Nightingale took a wicket a piece for Fillongley. Chasing, Fillongley had skipper Hammond to thank for steering them to victory on 142-7 as he made a match winning unbeaten 50 after Nightingale had hit 36 and Ali 20. For the Town, Neil Goodman picked up a brace of wickets whilst Peebles, Dave Edmunds, Phil Edmonds and Pete Alty claimed a wicket each. James Nason snaffled a pair of catches in the outfield.
