For Leamington, James Gethins took 5-48 and Sergeant 2-9 with the ball to round off a fine for him.

2nd XI

Kenilworth v. Stockton Star

Warwickshire Cricket League – Division 7 East – W/L/D – 50 overs a side

LOSE

Stockton Star 121-10 (24 points) (50 overs) beat Kenilworth 114-10 (4 points) (39 overs) by 7 runs.

On a low scoring day where the bowlers had the upper hand, Kenilworth fell 7 runs agonisingly short of the Stockton Star’s total of 121-10 despite Sam Leach taking 4-13 from his 12 overs, Kapil Dubey 2-12 from his 12 over spell whilst Jono Sparks took 1-32 with 3 run outs to occur in the Stockton innings after R. Sharma top scored with 20. The 2nd. XI lost wickets all to regularly in reply with Sparks, Dubey and Danny Boneham all scoring 19 each but despite plenty of overs in hand the side were bowled out for 114 as V. Sharma took 3-30, Brooks 3-49 and Ansari 2-16 for Stockton to give them an unlikely win as Kenilworth end the season mid table.
