Sunday 1st XI v Willoughby Wanderers – 16/06/2013

Kenilworth Win

Due to Streetly pulling out of Warwickshire Sunday League, a last minute 40 over a side friendly fixture was arranged against Willoughby Wanderers. A mixed Kenilworth side secured a fine last over win in the match as they successfully chased down Willoughby’s score of 238-4 after Parker had made 85, Lane 67 and Clarke 44. The Kenilworth bowlers to claim wickets were Ed Ruswa with 2-64 and Gregg Peebles 2-18. Chasing the target, Kenilworth’s young opening pairing of Pat Howard and Adam Huxford put on 81 for the first wicket. Howard went onto make 64, hitting 6 boundaries and 2 sixes in the process and Huxford 35 hitting 4 boundaries. Colt, Jack Howard made an excellent 39 before an unbeaten 50 from Gregg Peebles (with six boundaries) saw Kenilworth home with 3 balls of the match remaining as the side reached 240-4. And thank you Willoughby for the last minute fixture.
