12/08/2012: Sunday 2nd XI v Attock

Kenilworth Lose

The Sunday 2’s fell 28 runs short after Attock had posted 221-9 thanks to Aktar hitting 67, Mahmood 39 and Javid 27 The Town’s outfielding was superb as 5 batsmen were run out with 3 sharp direct hits, 2 of which came from the arm of 15 year old Todd Elliott who also took 1-33. Fellow colt Ben Taylor took 2-33 whilst old timer, Andy Smith took the other wicket to fall. Despite a solid start from Lewis Phillips and Nigel Thompson with 34 a piece, the Town fell behind the required run rate against a tidy Attock bowling attack. George Boylin blasted a quickfire 18 but it was a 69 run 8th wicket partnership that gave the Town hope but when Roger Kelsey was out for 24, Ali Peebles ran out of overs and had to settle on 36 not out and the side 193-8 after Jaffrey had taken 3-11 and Khan 3-23 for Attock.
