2nd XI v. Fillongley

Kenilworth’s Saturday 2nd XI hosted Fillongley  on the 30th April for their opening Warwickshire Cricket League Division Eight East match of the season.

Fillongley won the toss and decided to bat first, with only opener Tarry, who made 30, posted a score of note, as the Kenilworth bowling tore through the Fillongley batting in style.

The star performer for Kenilworth was   Ian Baker, with a high class spell of seam bowling, returned stunning figures of 5 for 6 off ten unplayable overs as he ripped through the Fillongley side. He was well supported by young Freddie Davies who took 2 for 2 and veteran All Peebles not to be out done took 2 for 2, whilst the other wicket was taken by Jack Bennett with 1 for 30, as the visitors were skilled all out for 58 in 26 overs.

Kenilworth then blasted their way to a quickfire win as they reached 59-2 in only eight overs, with James Adamson 13 and Guy Pearson 18 the men out, Gregg Peebles with 17 not out and Tom Evans with 7 not out who hit a huge six into the field.

Kenilworth the winners by eight wickets. A great way for Seconds to start the season.
