Sunday 2nd XI v Earl Shilton – 26/05/2013

Match Tied

An exciting finale saw the Kenilworth 2’s on Sunday tie their 40 over friendly match against Earl Shilton. Two runs were needed off the last ball of the match, one run was achieved but a suicidal second to win the match failed as the batsman was run out 1 yard short of the line. Earl Shilton had posted 235-7 as Pav Singh, Tom and Harry Horsley each made half centuries and Zac Potter 45 whilst paceman Todd Elliott took 2-32 and Charlie Stranks 2-38. The highlight of day for Kenilworth was the batting of openers, Matt Bolshaw and 15 year old Adam Huxford, who both achieved their maiden Senior half centuries in a day to remember for them. The pair put on 129 for the first wicket as Bolshaw hit 11 boundaries in his fine knock of 71 whilst Huxford went onto make an unbeaten 72, hitting 7 boundaries in the process, as he shared in a 2nd wicket partnership of 80 with his father, Pete Huxford who made 35. Two run outs took place in the last over as Kenilworth scampered between the stumps but the side ended the day on 235-5 and the match was tied.
