Sunday 2nd XI v Knowle & Dorridge – 25/05/2013

Kenilworth Lose

The Kenilworth 2’s suffered last ball agony as they were bowled out for 101 losing their last two wickets in the final over of the match against Knowle and Dorridge who had earlier posted 204-9. Bentley had made 46, Smith 41, Hughes 30 and Butler 20 for K & D whilst Geoff Edmunds took 4-31, Ali Peebles 3-61, Charlie Stranks and Pete Alty a wicket each for Kenilworth, aided by 3 fine stumpings from keeper Mark Stranks. Despite 30 from Mark Stranks and 18 from Geoff Edmunds, Kenilworth were never in the run chase and survival was the aim. Youngster Adam Huxford added 11 and Matt Bolshaw 10 but their efforts were in vain as Bentley took 3-14, Roberts, Butler, Barnett and Afridi one each. It was Smith who was the K & D hero as he took the wickets in the final over when the last man fell on the final ball to give them 103 run win.
