Bowlers too good for Hunningham

2nd XI v. Hunningham

On Saturday 27th June, Kenilworth 2nd XI travelled the short distance to Hunningham to play their  Warwickshire Cricket League Division 8 East league match.
Kenilworth batted first and slipped to 42 for 3, before young keeper batsman Dan Horner with 31 and fellow youngster Jono Sparks with a composed 47 put on 64 for the fourth wicket, but then Kenilworth collapsed to 141 all out in the 29th over of the 45 available. Staniforth with 4 for 16 and Pettifor with 3 for 43 doing the damage for Hunningham.
The home side’s reply went from 40 for 2 to 66 all out in the 38th over, as the Kenilworth bowlers ran through the home side with Matt Bolshaw with 2 for 17 off 10 frugal overs, skipper Geoff Edmunds with 3 for 8, Charlie Stranks 2 for 4 and Ian Baker with 1 for 8 doing the damage as the Hunningham side could not cope with the Kenilworth attack.
Two smart run outs saw Kenilworth ease to a 75 run win, keeping their good season going with their fifth win of the season seeing them firmly in second spot in the Division.
