Weather denies 2nds the chance of a win

So close to maximum points

The weather frustrated the Seconds and realistically denied them chance of victory in their rain affected match against Hunningham as 25 overs of play was lost by them bowling second.

Kenilworth had posted a stiff 210-9 off their 50 overs with keeper Tom Booker top scoring with 65 hitting 9 boundaries in the process. Guy Pearson hit 45 whilst Mark Stranks chipped in with 23, Geoff Edmunds an unbeaten 21 and Steve Rhodes 17 as James took 5-46 for Hunningham.

In reply, Kenilworth nearly chalked up their first win of the season but Hunningham clung on for a draw as they were only able to face 25 overs in total – half their usual entitlement with the last wicket pairing hanging for 8 balls–  to deny Kenilworth victory as they were left  teetering on 90-9 at close.

Ian Baker took 3-27, Edmunds 2-4, Hitesh Moorthy 2-10 and Rhodes 1-28 for Kenilworth with Booker  taking 3 catches behind the sticks in the side’s positive and confident performance.
