Young Freddie nearly wins the match for the 2’s

2nd XI v. Hunningham

Kenilworth’s second team hosted neighbours Hunningham seconds in their final Warwickshire Cricket League Division Eight East league match of the season on Saturday August 29th.

Hunningham batted first, with James making a fine 63 for the visitors, as Hunningham finished on a competitive 209 for 6 from their 45 overs, wicket takers for Kenilworth were seamer John Mortlock with 2 for 42, evergreen Ali Peebles 1 for 25, slow bowler Chris Beach with a tidy 1 for 35 off 10 overs and Nick Moore with 1 for 41.

Kenilworth’s reply was steady throughout, with young Nathan Chant with 27, Jaesh Naik 25, Dan Horner 22, Ant Kerry 19 but it was young all rounder Freddie Davies with a quickfire 58 not out (6×4 and a six) who very nearly won it for Kenilworth, finishing just short on 202 for 6 for a losing draw. Hunningham’s James with 3 for 37 capping a good day for himself.

The side end their season mid table in 6th spot in the Division after winning 6 matches, drawing 7 and losing only 3 in a tight competitive Division.
