06/07/2013: Saturday 3rd XI v Lapworth II

Kenilworth Lose

Lapworth proved too strong for the Kenilworth 3rd XI in their Cotswold Hills Cricket League match in their back to back matches in the League programme. Last week Kenilworth were victors but this week it was Lapworth’s turn. They posted 214-6 with Faber making 57, Carter 47 not out and Carr 32. The highlight of the day for Kenilworth was the Senior debut appearance of 13 year old Freddie Davies. He claimed an impressive 2-15 in his spell and his first Senior wickets and then with the bat he made 15, smashing two boundaries and six in his cameo innings. Fellow colts, Alfie Boylin took 2-26 and George Webb 2-57. In reply, Kenilworth could only make 162 all out, despite a captain’s innings from Andy Dadswell who top scored with 62. Chris Beech made 20 and Nigel Thompson 18 but the innings fell away as Pretorious took 5-35 and Carter 2-20 for Lapworth who were deserved winners on the day.
