Thompson leads the way with a top notch ton

The Thirds continued their great season and notched up their 8th win of the season in their penultimate match of their  Cotswold Hills Cricket League campaign as they recorded an 82 run victory over neighbours Kenilworth Wardens. The side posted 256-5 as opener Nigel Thompson was in sublime form as he hit a superb century. His 105 not out included 12 boundaries and a 6 and he shared in an unbroken 103 run 6th wicket partnership with skipper Sam Leach who made an unbeaten 50 in which he hit 9 boundaries. George Boylin earlier chipped in with 42. Wardens could only manage to reach 174 despite Hammann making 45, Bennett 23 and Brown 20 as Ed Smith took 3-26 whilst the 5 other bowlers used shared the remaining wickets as Kenilworth 3’s side push for promotion in their most impressive season for several years.
