Heartbreak for the Thirds

3rds lose out in a last over thriller

In a keenly fought and entertaining match, Leek Wootton edged to a 2 wicket win with three balls of the game left as Bayliss hit the ball out of the ground for a 6 to break the hearts of the Kenilworth side who had posted 169-9 and complete a good all round performance for him.

David Howe had made 43 with 6 boundaries, Ed Smith 30 and Geoff Hay 20 for Kenilworth as Bramley picked up 3-27, Bayliss a very tidy 2-18 off his 10 overs and Clayton 2-34 for Wootton.

Allison put Leek Wootton on their way with 47 hitting 7 boundaries and a six. Ed Smith took an impressive 3-18 of his 10 overs, skipper Sam Leach 2-29 and Chris Beach 2-41 for Kenilworth but their efforts were in vain as Bayliss hit a 6 to the win the game, making it 3 for the day for him as  well as 5 fours in his unbeaten 54 as he secured victory.
