Summer rain and hail prevents play finishing

3rd. XI v. Ashton under Hill II



Hosts, Ashton under Hill batted first in their Cotswold Hills Division 6 match. The match started in glorious sunshine but that did not last long as the clouds darkened. Rain came and went forcing the sides went off twice before a huge hailstorm with thunder and lightning forced the players off and not to return as the pitch and outfield were under water when the rain stopped, even though both sides tried to carry on but were beaten by the elements. Ashton under Hill ended on 93 for 2 from 23.3 overs.

There was a wicket for Ed Smith via a catch from Gareth Knights at mid off and also a run out via Ant Kerry.
Five bowlers were used on a day the fine summer weather came to a sudden end.

Kenilworth take 6 points.
