Sunday XI v. Kenilworth Wardens II

On Sunday 5th August Kenilworth hosted neighbours Kenilworth Wardens in Division Three of the Arden Sunday League.

Wardens were asked to bat first, opening bowlers for the home side were Matt Dadswell from the pavilion end and Darius Potten-Ravenshad, and it was Ravenshad who struck first, Wardens 27 for 1 via the hands of Nathan Chant. Kenilworth reduced the visitors to 55 for 3, who then put a strong partnership together for the fourth wicket as Jacob and skipper Dipesh put on 90 together. Jacob was run out for 49 backing up off the bowling of Henry Curran.
Potten-Ravenshad returned at the pavilion end, after being hit for three huge sixes in one over, had his revenge in the next one, Dipesh out for a fine 85. A flurry of late wickets for Tom Skinner, saw the Wardens all out for 204 in the last of their forty overs. Skinner finishing with 4 for 31 from 7.3 overs, Potten-Ravenshad with 3 for 44 from eight overs and Henry Curran 1 for 51 from eight overs.

Kenilworth lost a wicket to the third ball of their reply, Pete Magafas caught behind off Dipesh. Nathan Chant was unluckily run out also backing up via the bowlers finger tips for 14. This bought the in form Chris Prophet to the crease, he soon found the boundary on a regular basis, the scoreboard was working overtime as Prophet soon bought up his fifty. After the third wicket fell, Henry Curran joined Prophet with his score on 143. Only young leg spinner Dhillon with 1 for 48 from eight overs bowled his allocation, Curran and Prophet soon got their side over the line, Curran hitting a six to win the game in Only 26 overs , Curran finished on 22 not out, but Prophet followed up his unbeaten 99 from the day before, with 84 not out, his innings having 14 x 4 and 1 x 6. Home side Kenilworth winning by seven wickets on 205 for 3.

Kenilworth collect 20 points for their efforts.
