Ramblers edge it

Sunday XI v. Coventry Ramblers

The Sunday XI hosted Coventry Ramblers in a 40 overs a side friendly and had to settle for second best after being bowled out for 117 despite a super 58 from Pat Howard who hit 11 boundaries, 2 sixes whilst only running a solitary 2 in his knock. Phil Edmonds added 24 but the pair were the only ones to reach double figures as Glendining took 3-13, Poonia 3-22, Sharma 2-15 and Mountfield 2-27 for the Ramblers.

Sharma led the Ramblers to victory with an unbeaten 59 as they reached 118-7, recovering from 14-4 after young seamer Ryan Bull had taken out the top 4 batsmen to end on 4-12 from his 6 overs (and rounding off a fine weekend with wickets both days). Sharma remained steadfast whilst Martin McKenna, Ali Peebles and Liam Cottle took the other wickets to fall.
