On a day when the Club had two Sunday sides out, Kenilworth hosted Solihull Blossomfield in their 40 overs a side friendly. They posted a stiff 238-6 with opener Henry Curran top scoring with 62 (5 x 4, 1 x 6). Sam Leach added 40 (3 x 4) before he fell. A late burst from Charlie Stranks and Tom Skinner saw them add 47 in 5 overs. Skinner made 16 not out whilst Stranks made his half century on the final ball of the innings as he ended unbeaten on 51 (6 x 4). F. Mir took 2-21 for the visitors.

S. Mir made 55 for Bloss opening, Parker 21, Lokesh and Kapoor both reached 11 but these were the only batsmen to reach double figures as the side could only reach 142 before they were bowled out inside 34 overs. Kenilworth’s young guns of Dan Barrie took 1-9 from 5 impressive overs, Will Machin 1-13 and Louis Smithson 1-25, whilst Curran took 2-11 and Skinner 2-19 to see the side home with a good win as 5 catches were held, two by Leach on a lovely day and when cricket was the winner. This is what summer is all about!
