Sunday side fall short

The first Sunday game of the season ended in defeat as Dumbleton chased down their target with 4 overs to spare.

Kenilworth won the toss and chose to bat, struggling against restrictive bowling slipping to 5-1 and 17-2 before a 3rd wicket partnership of 98 between debutant Matt Smith (43) and Joe Tate (68*) before a finish from Matt Casey (20*) saw Kenilworth finishing 163/3 from their 35 overs.

In reply, Dumbleton also found conditions tricky against tight Kenilworth bowling as they were restricted to 30-5 by impressive spells from Babu (2-29) and Thomas Best with 3-20. However it was lower order hitting from Dumble ton that saw them across the line after Ted Batchelor finished 57* following a powerful 40 from 20 balls from Madushanka. Matt Dadswell the other wicket taker as Dumbleton finished 166-6 needing just 31 overs.
