Wednesbury first teamers enjoy their batting

Kenilworth’s Sunday XI were outdone by Wednesbury from the Staffordshire Cricket League Premier Division and their 3 first XI players and overseas star in this hastily arranged 40 over a side friendly pool fixture. Wednesbury posted a stiff 255-3 in their innings as Kharkiani made an unbeaten 116, hitting 11 boundaries and 7 sixes whilst Singh made 116 (6 boundaries and 9 sixes) as the pair put on 228 for the second wicket as 7 Kenilworth bowlers  and fielders toiled away to their credit.  Gregg Peebles took 2-33 and James Adamson 1-23 for the Sunday XI. In reply, Kenilworth were bowled out for 162 inside 35 overs despite the best efforts of Peebles who made a solid 51 and Adamson 21. Colts Jono Sparks and Danny Boneham both made 15 as the side’s wickets were shared by all the Wednesbury bowlers  as they proved far too strong for the Kenilworth side.
