Worth the 80 mile round trip

The Sunday side enjoyed a comfortable 8 wicket win at Mountsorrell who were bowled out for 140 in their 40 overs a side friendly match. Wood hit an unbeaten 58 with 10 boundaries for the hosts as all Kenilworth bowlers picked up wickets. Colt Ryan Bull made the early breakthrough of removing both openers to leave Mountsorrell reeling on 6-2 whilst Russell Watson picked up 2-30, James Adamson 2-22, old stager Andy Smith 2-25. Henry Curran took 1-24, his wicket the ball of the day and skipper Chris Prophet closed the innings taking the final wicket. In reply, a 71 run opening partnership between Andy Dadswell and Jorjeet Singh set Kenilworth on the road to an easy win. Dadswell made 31 and Singh 32, both hitting 5 boundaries. Steve Kelley made an unbeaten 32 and Prophet 21 not out as they put on a match winning unbroken partnership of 67 runs to see Kenilworth to victory and  143-2 inside 23 overs.
