Wanderers cruise to victory in the sun

Sunday XI v. Wanderers

On a glorious summers Sunday the 7th August, Kenilworth hosted Leicester side Wanderers the third time this season.

Kenilworth batted first, lost an early wicket, but recovered to 51 for 1 only to slip to 69 for 6 as the middle order struggled to cope with Monty who took a frugal 3 for 16 from eight tidy overs. Only opening bat Danny Boneham batted well, with 46 made any score of note until Kenilworth’s number eight Freddie Davies added a quickfire 40 , Elliott Haynes-Sorrell added 16, but the home side only managed to make 130 all out In 37 overs, Nikesh 2 for 5 bowling well for Wanderers.

The visitors started in a very positive manner and raced to 41 for 1 in four overs, then 99 for 2 after 20 overs, Nitesh with 46 was out with only four runs needed, bowled by Pat Howard (1 for 16), with wickets for Nick Moore 2 for 45 and Freddie Davies 1 for 31 aided by good catches in the outfield by Danny Boneham and Martin McKenna, but Wanderers cruised home with 15 overs to spare, finishing on 132 for 4, to win by six wickets
