03/08/2013: Saturday 2nd XI v Corley

Winning Draw

Kenilworth 2’s had the better of a drawn game after they posted 237-10 against Corley. Mark Stranks 62 and Binoy Master 56 shared in a 89 run 2nd wicket partnership which set the side on the way to it total. Hitesh Moorthy chipped in with a quickfire unbeaten 43 towards the end of the innings. In reply, Corley could only post 156-6 with Manning top scoring with 48 as the wickets were shared around.

27/07/2013: Saturday 1st XI v Bablake Old Boys

Kenilworth Win

Kenilworth 1st XI produced a great all round performance to record their second win of the League season with a 84 run victory over Bablake Old Boys which also saw them move off the bottom of the Warwickshire Cricket League Premier Division table as they continue fight to avoid relegation. Kenilworth started well as openers Adie Sellar 37 and James Nason 52 put on a spirited 100 runs for the first wicket. Sellar hit 7 boundaries in his innings whilst Nason hit 11 boundaries. Dave Edmunds later chipped in with 24 and Binoy Master 22 as Swaffield took 4-51 and Cowley 3-23 for Bablake but Kenilworth made 190-9 in their 50 overs. In reply, Bablake could only manage 106 all out as they were skittled out inside 28 overs as the Kenilworth pace duo off Gregg Peebles and Tom Pope did the damage and ripped through the Bablake top order thanks to some good catches. Peebles went onto take a fine 5-33 of his 14 over spell whilst Pope who took the first two wickets to fall to start the Bablake wobble ended with 3-59. The match was wrapped up by spinner Ed Ruswa who took 2-1 in 10 balls with 22 overs left available when he removed the Bablake tail with ease. Earlier, there were two catches each for Kenilworth’s keeper Mike Watts and Chris Prophet with only Manning 33, Steady 13 not out and Cowley 11 the only Bablake players to reach double figures.

21/07/2013: Sunday 1st XI v Walmley

Kenilworth Lose

Kenilworth lost out by two wickets in a high scoring Warwickshire Sunday League Division 1 match at Walmley despite posting 254-8. Dave Edmunds hit 47 to set the innings off to a good start, then Binoy Master made 78 in his best innings for the Club recording 7 boundaries and 4 sixes. Neil Goodman in mid order hit 47 as Walmley’s Waugh took the bowling plaudits with 4-43. A 101 run first wicket partnership between Walmley’s Booth 65 and Hendry 48 set Walmley on the road to victory. Prowse made 37 and Newis 37 but it was left to McDonald with an unbeaten 51 to see the side home to victory with 13 balls to spare as they ended the day on 255-8 despite Gregg Peebles taking 2-46, Charlie Stranks 2-55 and Neil Goodman a wicket. Edmunds took two good outfield catches.

30/06/2013: Sunday 2nd XI v Walmley

Kenilworth Lose

The Sunday 2nds were losers by 49 runs in their match against Walmley who had posted 176-6 despite the efforts of Binoy Master who claimed 2-21, George Boylin 2-27 and colt Charlie Stranks 2-38 for Kenilworth. Master then made 46 in reply for the side, Hitesh Moorthy 24 and Stranks 18 but their efforts were in vain as the side were bowled out for 127 inside 34 overs.

Sunday 1st XI v Harborne – 09/06/2013

Kenilworth Win

Kenilworth chalked up a 31-run Warwickshire Sunday League Division One victory over Harborne at Warwick Road on Sunday. Solid contributions from James Nason 74, Chris Prophet 42 and Binoy Master 35 lifted the hosts to 219 for 4 in their 40 overs. Harborne were well placed at 139 for 4 but the dismissal of Nirru, for a well crafted 77, saw the visitors stutter and they closed on 188 for 8 with Gregg Peebles 1-35 and Geoff Edmunds 2-21 proving pick of the home attack.
