Saturday 2nd XI v Bournville – 04/05/2013

Losing Draw

16 year old, Charlie Stranks, was the Kenilworth’s player of the day as he took 6-54 off 15 overs and then hit an unbeaten 28 with the bat in the side drawn game at Bournville who were bowled out for 220 despite Stranks’ efforts with the ball. Edgehill hit 58, Shakat 37, Vashi 30 and Franklin 22 for the hosts as Kenilworth colts Neil Cooper claimed 2-26 and Todd Elliott 1-7 whilst Sam Leach took 1-35. Kenilworth’s opener, Richard Strange, hit 45 Mark Stranks chipped in with 17, Danny Boneham 13 and Roger Kelsey 11 as the side ended the day on 160-6 after Vashi had taken 2-16, whilst there was a wicket each for Bournville’s Soni, Shankat, Mann and Curtis.

Saturday 2nd XI v Ansley Sports – 27/04/2013

Kenilworth Win

The 2nds recorded a 51-run opening day victory at their Ansley counterparts. An eighth wicket stand of 48 between Roger Kelsey 30no and John Mortlock 23 lifted Kenilworth to 170 for 8 in a rain reduced innings of 48 overs. Earlier, Ali Bates hit 27 and Richard Strange 22. Ansley never threatened the target and the reply terminated on 119 with newcomer Binoy Master 4-25, skipper Geoff Edmunds 3-19, Mortlock 1-12 and Danny Boneham 1-22 doing the damage.

01/10/12: KCC win vs The Cottage

….its the return of the darts!!! 6-2 win away at The Cottage – no cider, the lager ran out at 9:30 & some shocking walk on music! Nase & Sol tried to keep the contest alive but there was no stopping us winning, even Sid won on debut! Roger bullshot Kelsey doing a 69 finish with 2 darts was the highlight of the evening! We are top of the league (probably)!!!

09/09/2012: Sunday 2nd XI v Water Orton

Kenilworth Win

The Sunday 2’s rounded off their Warwickshire Sunday League campaign with an 8 wicket win at Water Orton who were bowled out for 162 as all 7 Kenilworth bowlers used took wickets. Andy Kennell led the way with 3-11 and fellow spinner Roger Kelsey 2-26 whilst there was a wicket each for Matt Bolshaw, Alex Watts, Ben Taylor and Ant Kerry. Skipper Mark Deeley led the team to 163-2 and victory as he recorded an unbeaten 64. Andy Dadswell made a solid 42 and Pat Howard 29 as the side won with 5 overs to spare.

02/09/2012: Sunday 2nd XI v Knowle & Dorridge

The Sunday 2’s were outplayed by Knowle and Dorridge to suffer a 7 wicket defeat. The side could only muster 85-10 as wickets fell regularly against a tidy bowling attack. Only Andy Dadswell made any score of note as he made 35 followed by Peter Huxford 14 who was caught by a stunning diving one handed catch in the covers and 10 from Charle Stranks. In reply, K & D eased to 88-3 with West making an unbeaten 28, Craven 16 and Ayub 15. The only successful Kenilworth bowlers were Roger Kelsey 2-19 and Charlie Stranks 1-22 as K & D reached their target with 11 overs to spare.
