Sunday XI win

Prophet, Nason and Singh star

The Club returned to winning ways on the Sunday to put the disappointment of the League results for the Club behind them as they defeated Coventry Ramblers by 49 runs.

Kenilworth had posted 194-9 with Chris Prophet  a solid 61 with 7 boundaries and 3 sixes James Nason, hitting his first half century of the season, with 55, 46 of which came courtesy of boundaries and a six.

Tom Anscombe chipped with 16 and Mike Watts 14 as Kelshaw and the Hall brothers taking a brace of wickets each. In reply, Ramblers were bowled out for 145 as Jorjeet Singh snapped up an impressive 5-20 with the ball, whilst Matt Smith took 227,  Anscombe 1-15 and colt Danny Boneham 1-35 for Kenilworth.

Saturday 3rd XI v Leek Wootton 2nd XI – 11/05/2013

A young Kenilworth 3’s were no match for Leek Wootton in their Cotswolds Hill League clash as the hosts posted 241-7 thanks to solid knocks from McKenzie 61, Sandeep 54, Guldeep 24, Roberts 23 and Kettle 20. Colt Ryan Bull was the most successful Kenilworth bowler taking 3-37 and there was a wicket a piece for Indy Matharu, Matt Dadswell, Matt Smith and Langley. Palmer was the only Kenilworth batsman to reach double figures with 18 as the side were bowled out for only 48 as Roberts took 4-4, McKenzie 3-11, Hammett 2-16 and Clifford 1-12 for Leek Wootton.

Saturday 3rd XI v Moreton in the Marsh 2nd XI – 04/05/2013

Kenilworth Lose

Despite a super unbeaten 54 from skipper, Andy Dadswell, Kenilworth 3’s crashed to a 116 run defeat at Moreton in Marsh who had posted 279-5 thanks to a fine 115 from Charlie Mullard and 59 from Chris Horne. Kenilworth’s bowlers toiled but newbie Matt Smith was the most successful with 2-31 whilst Indy Matharu, Matt Dadswell and Anu took a wicket each. Kenilworth were bowled out 163 as Dadswell ran out of partners after Nigel Thompson had earlier hit 31 and Ed Smith’s cameo innings of 29 that saw 5 boundaries and a six as the sides wickets were shared by the 6 Moreton bowlers used.
