Smithson shows his talent in a fine win

Coleshill 194-8 lost to Kenilworth 197-4 (42.3 overs) by 6 wickets

 

Dave Smithson starred with the bat as he guided the Seconds to a good win at Coleshill hitting an unbeaten 75 (8 x 4) from the number 3 spot as the side chased down Coleshill’s score of 194-8 with 15 balls in hand. He put on 71 for the second wicket with youngster Shyaan Imam who made 39. Charlie Stranks hit 29 and Josh Charlwood an unbeaten 23 as the side reached 197-4 to record a 6 wicket win. 

Earlier, Shazad made 82 and Brown 48 in Coleshill’s total with Islam chipping in with 26. The Kenilworth wicket takers were Kapil Dubey who took an excellent 3-16, Dave Gamble 2-38 and skipper Sam Leach 1-26. Run outs accounted for the other two wickets to fall. Keeper, Henry Curran bagged a catch and took a stumping for the side to kick start their season off.
