The 3rd. XI kicked off their Cotswold Hills cricket league campaign with a comprehensive 9 wicket win against visitors Moreton-in-Marsh who could only post 120 in their innings. Will Thompson took the bowling honours for Kenilworth taking a fine 3-7 followed by Will Machin with 2-19, Matt Dadswell 2-28 and Louis Smithson 1-6 after Stotesbury had made 36 and Evans 25 for Moreton.
Replying, Kenilworth’s openers put on 60 for the first wicket with Uma UmaShanker hitting 26 (3 x 4, 1 x 6) whilst youngster Yash Joshi went onto post his deserved maiden Senior half century, hitting an unbeaten 52 (9 x 4) as he teamed up with fellow young teenager Thompson who made 23 not out (3 x 4) as they guided the side to victory reaching 121-1 inside 24 overs and record a confidence boosting win in their first match of the season. Pavey-Edwards with 1-8 was the only Moreton bowler to be rewarded with a wicket.
