Scorecard

Friendly Away vs Great Alne CC

Kenilworth visited Great Alne for a 40 overs-a-side friendly at their picturesque ground as they hosted a club memorial day.

Kenilworth were asked to bowl first as captain Walters top scored for the hosts with 55 before he fell to Matty Dadswell, taking 2-37 on the day. In a balanced contest, wickets continued to fall regularly as runs were also added, Great Alne reaching 172 all out in the final over. Other Kenilworth wicket takers were Tom Best (3-18), Dan Horner (3-25), and Keeran Umashanker (2-10).

The visiting openers were both dismissed for low scores as Kenilworth reached 2-2 looking to set a platform for their chase. Top Order runs from Keeran (23) and Joe Tate (21) helped push on to 50-2 which quickly became 53-5 as Kenilworth wobbled. Lower order desistance from Dan Horner (26) and Yougunn Prakashkumar (41*) brought Kenilworth close but it wasn’t to be as they were all out on the final ball of the 40th over, just 7 runs short.

A close game of cricket played in a good spirit.
