Ben Kelley took 3-25 in the 2nd XI

Saturday 1st XI

The first eleven hosted Kenilworth Wardens at Warwick Road on Saturday, with the home side winning the toss and electing to field.

Wardens made 200 off their 50 overs, losing 9 wickets. Andrew Leering high scored for the aways side, making 62 which included 9 boundary 4’s. Three bowlers took wickets with Sandeep Kumar taking 2 for 4 and Connor Shingler 3 for 53. The best figures of the day came from Waj Chohan, claiming 3 for 24 off his 12 overs.

In reply, Kenilworth fell 52 short of the total with Louis Smithson top scoring, making 37 off of 82 , including 5 fours. For the wardens, wickets were spread around, Sorrell and Aravind both claimed one and Raghavan took 2. Ben Rex took 3 for 38 and Christian Salisbury had the best figures with 3 for 23 from 8 overs.

Kenilworth take 5 points from the game and are 9th in division 2.

Saturday 2nd XI

The 2nd XI took the short hop to Berkswell, where the home side won the toss and elected to bat first.

Kenilworth bowled and caught well, with Berkswell 109 all out inside 31 overs. Akshat Sinha scored 51 and Lucas Wragg 24 , the only two batters to reach double figures for the first time. For Kenilworth , Josh Charlwood took 2 for 25 and Sam Leach 4 for 33 as Ben Kelley came away with the best figures of 4 for 25.

Light work was made of Berkswell’s below par total, Kenilworth winning the game with more than 24 overs to spare. Captain Matthew Bain scored a well made 41 accompanying Shyaan Imam who ended on 64 not out . Those two innings were the only runs scored off the bat as Kenilworth chased the total 3 down.

The second XI take 24 points from the game , providing a massive boost to their survival hopes.

Saturday 3rd XI

The 3s travelled to Rowington in the Cotswold Hills League, with Kenilworth winning the toss and electing to field first.

The home side made 164 for 9 from their 40 overs, Haywood made 44 and Whitfield top scored with a better than one a ball 59, with no other batsmen making double figures. Manni Toor claimed one wicket and both Dadswell and Farnell took two a piece. Nick Moore claimed the best figures with 3 for 24 from his 9 overs.

In reply, Kenilworth stuttered to 61 all out. Krishna Alluri made 29 and was the only score of note for the K’s. For the home side, Williams took 1 for 4 and Sly claimed 2 for 16. Henry Bird however, produced outstanding figures of 6 for 29 from his 9 overs.

Kenilworth take 4 points from the game and are 8th in division 4.

Sunday XI

Kenilworth hosted Coleshill in a Sunday friendly at Warwick Road, where the away side won the toss and elected to bat first.

Coleshill made a slow start but despite this managed to climb to 167 for 8 off of 40 overs. Khattak top scored with 45 off 80 deliveries with Ahmed close behind on 43 not out off just 37. Wickets were spread for Kenilworth with Wasley, Dadswell and Keshvala all claiming one each. Ben Kelley took 2 for 25 whilst KV returned 3 for 36 off of his 8 overs.

Kenilworth made the chase look comfortable, reaching the target set with 5 wickets in hand and just over 7 overs to spare. Yougunn Prakashkumar made an excellent 51 , his second half century of the season, as he accompanied Dan Horner who finished unbeaten on 54. For the away side Mohammed and Jamil both claimed one fers and Pandhair claimed the best figures 2 for 19.

The Sunday side claimed a 5 wicket victory.
