SATURDAY
1st. XI v. Hampton & Solihull
WCCL Division 1
Hampton & Solihull 163-10 (16 points) (44.1 overs) drew with Kenilworth 142-9 (9 points) (45 overs)
L/DRAW
Hosts Hampton & Solihull had the better in a drawn game as Kenilworth hung on to deny them victory in a low scoring affair. They posted 163-10 with opener Roy top scoring with 52, then Friend made 38 and Hongan 22. Matt Casey was Kenilworth’s most successful bowler snapping up 4-20 from 5.1 tidy overs with a wicket apiece for Kapil Dubey, Steve Rhodes, Joe Atkinson and Connor Shingler.
In reply, Kenilworth lost their opener without scoring but Tom Booker with 37 and Chris Prophet 16 put on 54 for the 2nd. wicket in a solid partnership but once it was broken, the side could not make in roads into the target losing wickets in pairs, although Rhodes made 22 and Henry Curran 21. The last pair batted out the last couple of overs as the side ended on 142-9 to deny Hampton victory with Keyte taking 5-33, Khan 2-24 and Long 2-32 for the hosts.
2nd. XI v. Knowle Village
WCCL Division 7 East
Knowle Village 181-7 (15 points)(45 overs) drew with Kenilworth 149-6 (8 points)(38 overs)

Both sides settled for a draw in a rain affected match that saw 7 overs lost in Kenilworth’s innings as they tried to chase down Knowle’s score of 181-7 from their 45 overs but ended the day on 149-6.
Earlier, Olderson had made 39, Thomplin 23, Tibbits 22 and Stringer 20 for Knowle with Chris Beach taking 2-42 for Kenilworth. Christian Mortlock, Sam Leach and Charlie Stranks each took a wicket with 2 run outs accounting for the other two wickets to fall.
In reply, Kenilworth kept up with the required run rate but the rain came and overs were lost and the side had to settle on 149-6, just 4 short of their Winning Draw target. Charlie Stranks hit a good half century making 53 with 4 boundaries and a six. Dave Smithson added 29, Dan Horner 27 and veteran Mark Stranks 22 in the side’s total as Mahmood took 3-31, Cooke 2-22 and Hurley 1-31 for the visitors.
3rd XI v. Emley Castle
Cotswold Hills League Division 6
Emley Castle 223-7 (22 points)(40 overs) beat Kenilworth 131-10 (5 points)(39.1 overs) by 92 runs.
LOSE
Emley Castle proved far too strong for Kenilworth in their opening League fixture as they posted a stiff 223-7 with Richardson hitting 96, Meredith 29 and Bailey 18. Their score was boosted with 55 extras of which wides accounted for 34 as the bowlers struggled with their line. Josh Charlwood did take 2-35, Keeran Umashanker 2-25 with Will Machin and Louis Smithson taking a wicket each.
Kenilworth found runs hard to come by despite a solid 31 from Dhruv Vyas and 21 from Keeran Umashanker as the side were bowled out in the last over for 131 to lose the match by 92 runs. Vik Joshi made 18, whilst Charnwood hit 15 and Matt Dadswell 14 as Webb took 3-22, Meredith 2-16 and Roberts 2-16 for the hosts who ran out easy winners.
SUNDAY
Sunday XI v. Harborne
40 overs a side friendly
Kenilworth 219-5 (40 overs) beat Harborne 136-10 (33.3 overs) by 83 runs
WIN
Dan Horner was in sparkling form with the bat for Kenilworth as he hit 100 before retiring out opening as Kenilworth posted 219-5. He hit 13 boundaries and shared in a 3rd. wicket partnership of 72 runs with Adam Huxford who made 22. Matt Casey then added an unbeaten 30 as he and young Dan Roden 16 put on a further 55 in the side’s total. Little took 2-39 for the visitors.
In reply, despite Sharique making 53, Nayiu and Raif hitting 22 each no other batsmen reached double figures and the side were bowled out in the 34th. over for 136. Matt Casey took a fine 3-9 from his 5 overs, Machin 2-29 and Roden 2-37. It was left to Huxford to wrap up the win as he claimed the last wicket in his 3 ball spell.
