WIN

On Saturday 4th May, Kenilworth second team travelled to play Oakfield Rowlands for their Warwickshire County Cricket Division Eight fixture and left 7 wicket winners.

Kenilworth won the toss and asked Oakfield to bat first, Randle and Goodwin opened their sides innings, the new ball shared by Danny Boneham and Charles Lamprecht, the home side made slow progress against some tight bowling and fielding. Boneham was rewarded with the wicket of Goodwin, caught by Tom Skinner for 8. Spin was introduced, with Tom Skinner and Sam Leach replacing the openers, and Leach struck early, having Randle bowled for 26, his spinning partner Skinner then ran through home sides top order, taking three quick wickets, all bowled. Munsell hit 33 for the home side, before Leach accounted for him and Harbres for 3. The home side really struggled to get to grips with the Kenilworth bowlers and the introduction of young leg spinner Dan Roden didn’t change anything, as he too was quickly amongst the wickets, having Classen caught for 22. Leach and the returning Lamprecht took the last two wickets, as Oakfield were all out for 114 in 44.4 overs. Wickets were shared for Kenilworth with Sam Leach with an incredible 4 for 18 from 12 overs, Tom Skinner with 3 for 27 from 12 tidy overs, Charles Lamprecht taking 1 for 4 from 6.4 overs, Danny Boneham 1 for 24 from 10 overs and 1 for 37.

Haynes-Sorrell was joined by Nathan Chant, the pair got their side within touching distance of their target when Haynes-Sorrell was also out to the bowling of Armstrong, making 15, Kenilworth 103 for 3. David Barclay joined Chant, and the pair saw their side over the line with no further alarms, Nathan Chant with 16 not out and Barclay 8 not out, Kenilworth finishing on 115 for 3 in 37 overs.
