All rounder Lamprecht nearly steals the match on his own

2nd. XI v. RMCC

LOSE

Kenilworth 2nd XI travelled the short distance to table topping RMCC for their Warwickshire County Cricket League Division 8 win/lose match and fell 9 runs short of the RMCC score of 180 despite the heroics of all rounder Charles Lamprecht who nearly single handedly won the 2’s the match with a superb maiden century for the side after his great spell with the ball.

In a match reduced to 36 overs a side, RMCC were all out on the last ball of their innings after Joe Poole had taken a super 4-32 from his spell and all rounder Lamprecht 3-31.

Replying, Kenilworth were at all sorts at 1-2 and 11-3 until Lamprecht came in. He took sole control of the matter on his own and produced a dominating and devasting innings in which he blasted the ball to all parts that nearly saw the side to victory. He hit 13 boundaries and 3 sixes in his innings of 100 before he sadly fell in the run chase. The next highest scoring batsmen were Sam Leach who carried his bat to end the day on 14 not out and Dave Gamble who had also earlier hit 14, such was Lamprecht’s dominance had been but all their efforts were in vain as overs ran out and Kenilworth ended the day on 171-7 in a most entertaining match where all the plaudits went to all rounder Lamprecht for his superb performance with the ball and then the bat. What a knock, it was.

RMCC 180-10 (36 overs) (20 points) Kenilworth 171-7 (36 overs) (6 points).

Kenilworth fall to 7th. place but 1 point behind 6th. and 5 behind 5th. with 5 games remaining.
