Kenilworth Sunday XI ‘A’ v. Kenilworth Wardens Development XI

 

Kenilworth Wardens Development XI 157-5 (35 overs) lost to Kenilworth Sunday XI ‘A’ 158-6 (32.1 overs) by 4 wickets

 

The Club managed to get two sides out on a Sunday again. The hosted local neighbours Kenilworth Wardens in a 35 overs a side friendly match who batted first posting 157-5 with Swift, 47 and Singh 45 sharing in a 73 run 5 wicket partnership. There was a wicket a piece for James Sparks 1-14, Christian Mortlock 1-12, Matt Dadswell 1-7 from 4 overs, Dan Barrie 1-33 and Andrew O’Reilly 1-12.

Chasing, youngsters Shyaan Imam and Will Machin shared in an 83 runs 2nd. wicket partnership to get the side off to a solid start. Imam hit 6 boundaries in his knock of 38, whilst Machin went onto make 41, also hitting 6 boundaries. Father and son duo of Andy Dadswell made an unbeaten 22 (2 x 4, 1 x 6) and son Matt 26 (5 x 4) as they teamed up and put on 44 together for the 6th. wicket to take the side close to the win. Kenilworth successfully passed the winning post in the 33rd. over as they reached 158-6.
