Arden Sunday Cricket League – Division 3

WIN

Hampton & Solihull 90-7 (38 overs) lost to Kenilworth 91-5 (23.1 overs) by 5 wickets.

Kenilworth enjoyed a 5 wicket win after restricting visitors Hampton & Solihull to 90-7 in their 38 overs as they struggled with the pitch conditions and the accurate Town bowling and fielding. Two sharp run outs accounted for the other 2 wickets to fall.

In reply, openers Dan Horner made 27 and Curran 19 but both were run out. Adam Huxford added 11 and Shyaan Imam 10 before Shingler, 14 not out, hit the winning runs in the 24th. over as the side easily reached 91-5 to record another Sunday League win.

Kenilworth Sunday 2nd. XI v. Leek Wootton

40 overs a side friendly

WIN

Leek Wootton 150-10 (39.3 overs) lost to Kenilworth 52-0 (14 overs) (revised target) by 10 wickets.

In a rain affected match, Kenilworth won on the last ball of the match and by 10 wickets as the side had been set a revised 52 off 14 overs after Leek Wootton had earlier posted 150 all out in 39.3 overs. Christian Mortlock claimed 3-37, Ben Clarke 2-18 and Matt Dadswell 2-19 for the Town side whilst there was a wicket apiece for Dan Roden, Louis Smithson and Steve Vaughan.

In a tense finish that went down to the wire with two required from the final over, openers Uma Umashanker 25 not out and Roden 16 not out held their nerves and a single from the final ball of the match was gained to give Kenilworth the win as they ended on 52-0 in an exciting climax to the match on a damp day.
