Sunday double as both sides win

The Club sent out two sides on Sunday – hosting Bharat Parvair, in the Arden Sunday Crocket League for their Division 3 match whilst the Sunday 2nd. XI travelled the short distance to Leek Wootton for a friendly match. Both sides came away winners.

 

Kenilworth v. Bharat Parvair

ASCL Division 3 – 40 overs a side – Win/Lose format

WIN

Bharat Parvair 119-8 (3 points) (40 overs) lost to Kenilworth 120-7 (14 points) (37 overs) by 3 wickets.

Kenilworth claimed a 3 wicket win in their Sunday League match with 5 overs to spare as they restricted visitors, Bharat Parvair, to 119-8 ater Kapil Dubey took 3-23, Charles Lamprecht 2-15 with Will Machin, Henry Curran and Tom Skinner chipping in with a wicket a piece as Krishna made 29, Chimana 16 not out and Tewari an unbeaten 15 for the visitors. In reply, Kenilworth edged to victory and to 120-7 thanks to 28 from teenager Shyaan Imam, an unbeaten 20 from Lamprecht with George Baines posting 18 and Connor Shingler 15 despite Shah taking 3-18.

 

Kenilworth 2nd. XI v. Leek Wootton

30 overs a side friendly

WIN

Leek Wootton 172-7 (30 overs) lost to Kenilworth 173-7 (27.2 overs) by 3 wickets.

In a friendly match reduced to 30 overs a side due to overnight rain, Kenilworth came out winners as they chased down Leek Wootton’s score of 172-7 after Ian Kimberley had made 52 and Holt 53, whilst Elliott Haynes-Sorrell had added 18. Wickets were shared around the Kenilworth’s bowlers with Dhruv Vyas taking 2-29, youngster Louis Smithson 2-44 with skipper Matt Dadswell, the returning Nick Moore to the cricket field and Gareth Knights a wicket each. In reply, Kenilworth had Vik Joshi to thanks for setting up the win with a fine 69, whilst Knights made 35, Vyas 16 and Dadswell 14. It was left to Smithson to hit the winning runs and reach 173-7 as he made an unbeaten 15. Kimberley took 3-20 for Leek Wootton and Dhillon 2-25 but their efforts could not prevent a Kenilworth win.
