At last week’s AGM the Club Chairman, Geoff Edmunds, presented joint winners of the Walter Whiteman Clubman of the Year award for the 2021 season.

The Walter Whiteman Clubman of the Year award was introduced in 1984 – 38 years ago – by the General Management Committee (GMC) in memory of Club Stalwart, Walter Whiteman  who had recently died. The aim is to acknowledge those non playing contributions from members who have assisted the Club in the past year. The selection is made by the Club Chairman.

This was last awarded for the 2019 season to Geoff himself.

This year’s deserved winners are Andy Smith and Jonathan Cousins for their fantastic efforts during the difficult times that faced all clubs over the past two years. Before presenting the award the Chairman detailed some of the fine work the Club Hon. Secretary and the Treasurer have undertaken to help keep us functioning and safe during the unprecedented times. All alongside negotiations and work with the new building developers to secure and cement the future of the club.

Congratulations and Thank You to Andy and Jonathan for everything you have done, and continue to do, for the Club.
