The Sunday XI side had a rare away friendly fixture on the banks of the River Avon on a pleasant sunny afternoon in Stratford-upon-Avon, for a change.

Kenilworth v. Stratford-upon-Avon

40 overs a side friendly

KENILWORTH WON BY 5 WICKETS

Stratford-upon-Avon 205-8 (40 overs) lost to Kenilworth 206-5 (38.4 overs) by 5 wickets.

 

Kenilworth’s Sunday XI travelled to Shakespeare’s birthplace for a 40 overs a side friendly fixture and came away with a 5 wicket win.

Stratford had  posted a solid 205-8 from their overs with Raisbeck hitting an unbeaten 53, Leaver 42 and Harrison an unbeaten 31 in their total. Matt Dadswell picked up 3-31,  Keeran Umashanker 2-36 with Louis Smithson and Adam Huxford taking a wicket each for the Town side. Smithson and Huxford then put on 86 runs together for the Kenilworth’s second wicket in reply. After Smithson had departed for 27, Huxford put on a further 44 runs with Joe Tait before he fell after scoring 83 (13 x 4). Tait went on to make 42 (5 x 4) with Dhruv Vyas 21 as they shared in a 50 run 4th. wicket partnership to set the Town on course for a win which the side duly did in the 39th. over as they reached 206-5 despite Regan taking 3-23 for the hosts.
